Therapy dog training is an important facet of School Therapy Dog Programs.
These programs utilize specially trained dogs to help improve the emotional and mental well-being of students. Whether it’s reducing a student’s anxiety or providing comfort during difficult times, therapy dogs can be incredibly impactful in a school setting.
While traditional in-person training options exist, the rise of online therapy puppy training programs has made it easier for individuals to become involved with therapy dog training at their own pace.
Whether in-person or online, the benefits of a therapy dog training program are immeasurable.

Canine Fitness and Hydrotherapy is being prescribed by more and more veterinarians across North America. It has proven to speed recovery, prevent future injury, and decrease the time a pet is on post-operative pain medication.
We at Sit Now Stay are emphasizing the importance of water therapy with working dogs, sporting dogs, senior dogs, overweight dogs, and any dog recovering from orthopedic surgery or soft tissue injury. Studies have proven that hydrotherapy is an important tool in recovery. It is gentle on the joints and allows a smooth and natural motion for pets in recovery.
Canine obesity is at an all time high. Water therapy and swimming can aid in weight loss allowing for a steady loss of fat and safe gain in muscle. Exercise is just as important for our pets as it is for us!
We can help senior dogs, adult dogs, and puppies. We take every step to ensure our patients have a safe and fun experience during their hydrotherapy.
Dock diving is the perfect sport for water-loving canines. It is both fun and rewarding for your pup and yourself. We offer dock diving lessons for beginners, as well as dogs who want to get the cutting edge in competition. During your lessons you will be paired with one of our Certified Dock Diving Coaches.
Schedule a dock diving lesson when you are ready to advance your dog off the dock; For beginners all the way up to competitors. This is a one on one coaching session with Brianne Durham, a three time World Champion handler and inductee into the DockDogs Hall of Fame.
For the thrill-seekers out there, dock diving is a great way to get your pup’s adrenaline pumping. From Corgis to Great Danes and all breeds in between, any pup six months of age or older can sign up to “compete” in this exciting sport. With the right training and a bit of practice, your pup can learn to leap from the dock and fly through the air with the greatest of ease. Whether you’re a novice or an experienced competitor, dock diving is a great way to bond with your pup while having fun and getting some exercise. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get diving!
Starting with a basic obedience class is a great way to get your pup prepped for the sport, teaching them the skills needed to perform well on the dock. From sit and stay commands to retrieving, having some formal dog training under your belt will vastly improve your pup’s performance. Plus, before you get started, always make sure to consult your veterinarian to ensure your pup is fit for the exercise.
Whether you’re looking to enter dock diving competitions, or just wanting to have some fun in the pool with your pup, Sit Now Stay Dog Training will get you dock diving in no time!
DockDogs is a world premier canine aquatics competition. Competitions include long jump, high jump, speed retrieve, and the Iron Dog Challenge (a combination of all three competitions). Brianne Durham and Heist were entered into the DockDogs Hall of Fame in November of 2017.
Officially launched in the United States in 2000, DockDogs competition consists of dogs using a 40 foot dock to jump into a pool of water. Dogs of any size, shape, age and breed compete in three events: Big Air (long jump), Extreme Vertical (high jump), and Speed Retrieve.
The fun, relaxed atmosphere and the teamwork between handler and dog have made DockDogs the fastest growing canine sport! The events also help raise money for canine cancer studies!
